First post 2026

I got inspired by other developers in the space of developers that writing public post makes you more accountable.

Goals for 2026

Masters in Machine Learning

One of my goals for 2026 is to dabble more into machine learning. Recently, I started my application for Georgia Tech OMSCS. I wanted a more structured way to study machine learning, as the Georgia Tech Online Master's is pretty affordable and the classes seem rigorous but rewarding based on other students' reviews. With the rise of AI, there is no excuse for not bridging the gap of coding. Now, the most important thing is knowing how to apply your theoretical knowledge properly from a system architectural standpoint to decision making. Experience really comes into play. You can ask AI to generate tons of machine learning solutions; it definitely will solve the problem one way or another, but in my opinion, you need to understand the why. Hence, a master's it is. Of course, I am late and things might change, but the fundamentals of machine learning are always there.

Software for public

One of the thing i missed are customer feedback loop, I missed owning an app and able to get feedback for users and fixed it quickly. During my college years i published a app call Powerlog and i can see users are using it, and actually received an email regarding a bug, that high got me for days. I wanted to do something for the dog / pets community for free.

Books

Couple of books that I wanted to finish

  • Dune
  • Dune Messiah
  • Modern Operating Systems ( Andrew Tanerbaum )
  • Hands on Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras & TensorFlow
  • AI Engineering: Building Applications with Foundation Models ( Chip Huyen )
  • Designing Data-Intensive Applications, 2nd Edition ( I read first edition before when I was in college, alot flew threw my head until i actually work on large scale systems )

Physical

  • From a physical standpoint, getting my first white stripe, been dealing with health issues, need to plan how to fit into my schedule and step back into the mats

Communication

  • I'm pretty envious of engineers or product peeps that are good at pitching or explaining technical / elevator pitch eloquently. There are plenty of apps now that teach you how to do that. Worth improving
